Albatross

Lady walked into the library, through stacks of novels with a fondness
and familiarity, the knowledge within this place was familiar to her.

She sat down and took from her bag a heavy volume procured from one of
the lower stacks. The book was filled with the familiar and the new in
a fascinating balance.

Finding her interest drawn repeatedly to this volume she had spent the
last week pouring over its contents, feeling a thrill of adventure.

In the opposite booth, Gentleman noticed her. Forgetting his own study
he leaned over her shoulder and read the words on the page she was
reading.

Lady turned the page, aware of the intrusion. Her attention was
focused on the beauty of the language within the book, the challenges
of metaphor and carefully crafted lies from which she brought forth
the truth.

Gentleman continued reading, fascinated by the poetry of the language
laid out before him, repeating an action long familiar of viewing from
the perspective of another and seeing ones own mind in the process.

Lady turned the page, a small white card with red lettering lay
between the two pages.

It read; I love you.

As one the pair smiled, their lips twisting into a sign of happiness
as their hands found each other.

Their lips met and they spoke joyfully of love.
